It was bound to happen and it did, Björk’s one and only Sydney concert sold out within a matter of a few hours. Lucky we got ours just in time. It’s being reported that Björk had only one condition to perform at the Sydney Festival and that was the gig had to held beside the sea and to play by the harbour. On a side note Björk tickets have already made their way to eBay and currently have an asking price of $349 ea, $204 more than the $145 sale price.
Joss Stone has decided to tour Australia once again after her sell out successful Sydney only show last April, topped off by her stunning performance at the East Coast & Blues Festival. This tour brings her to Brisbane and Melbourne for the first time. The TastiTeam will be there to hear the amazing voice live.

Icelandic songstress Björk will be part of the line-up for Sydney Festival 2008, performing for one night only on Sydney Opera House Forecourt on January 23, 2008.
Here is a quick update, due to numerous emails we received requesting further information about Björk tickets. According to the Sydney Festival site, tickets will go on sale Friday 2nd November. Keep checking their site for more information.

Jennifer Lopez’s Brave has failed to make it to the Top Ten in the U.S. According to the Billboard, it debuted at #12, only selling 53,000 copies - ouch! Even LeAnn Rimes and Kid Rock beat her by selling 74,000 (#4) and 170,000 (#1) respectively. I’m just surprised because all her previous albums, even her Spanish release, charted in the top ten.
Sugababes will be following the current UK no. 1 hit “About You Now” with “Change”, the title track off their new album. The song, which was produced by Danish producers, Deekay, will be released on December 17th. I was hoping the next single would be “My Love Is Pink” or the pop-r&b gem “Open The Door”. The girls have also announced a 20 date 2008 UK tour. Let’s hope the tour eventually makes it off shore, and to other parts of the world. See the dates below.

Pureto Rican star Ricky Martin finally received a “prestigious” star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “This is an incredible moment,” he told the crowd. “Everything I do, I do with love and passion.” His star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is the 2,351st awarded. I don’t know about you but they just aren’t as prestigious as they once used to be. PS Hurry up and finally come out.
As reported earlier the Spice Girls will release their brand new single “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)” digitally on 5th of November a week ahead of physical release. Now the bad news is that the 5th of November is the same day Kylie is releasing the digital download of her new song “2 Hearts”. It’s going to be a battle of the female superstars, but it looks like our Kylie isn’t going to have a chance to get a UK #1 this time around. Oh well, try again, but maybe with a better song.
It’s been reported around the Spice sites that their new single “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)” will be available for download on November 5th. The song will be their first single in seven years, and is set to be their 10th UK no. 1 hit. The name of the second new song from their Greatest Hits has been revealed as “Voodoo”. It’s going to be interesting to see what direction the girls take with their music. Now if they would just hurry up and announce the new date for the Sydney show!
Last week, superstar Janet Jackson released her first film in seven years, Tyler Perry’s romantic dramedy Why Did I Get Married. In it, she plays a lovelorn psychologist. Ms Jackson may not be the greatest actor in the world, but she definitely has a presence on screen that captures ones attention. Anyone remember Poetic Justice?
In other Janet news, her new album to be released around February next year is full steam ahead, although she hasn’t collaborated yet with her long time musical partners Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. “If we’re really going to work together on this album, I don’t know,” she said. “Hopefully we can and we’ll get together and be able to do at least a couple of things together.” The project is being overseen by LA Reid, who helped propel Mariah Carey back into super stardom with her 2005 monster hit, The Emancipation of Mimi. Please, let this be the return of Janet.
